For Dior's Spring 2010 collection, John Galliano looked to film noir for inspiration, with particular regards to Lauren Bacall, a regular client of Dior. The models played the part of the femme fatale, a role Bacall was especially famous for. The collection focused on the idea of underwear as outerwear, predominately the slip and incorporated Dior's new look into the silhouettes of the lingerie and jackets.
